Chapter Mission: 

Maringá Chapter was founded in August 2019 by a team of committed professionals a willing to plan and promote ELT events in the region. The chapter's goals are to provide English language teachers with opportunities for development and reflection upon their practice, as well as to connect our community to the latest innovations in our field.

Members:

Andréia Poppi Maia has been a teacher for 20 years. She has already worked in language institutes of great renown in Maringá, she also ran her own English school for some years and, currently, she has been working as a self-employed teacher and teacher trainer. She has a Postgraduate degree in English Language Teaching – Universidade Estadual de Maringá (UEM) and several Cambridge Exams, including CPE, TKTs 1, 2, 3 and CELTA.

 Cidalli Lenzi de Oliveira has been teaching English for about 17 years, mostly in language schools. In 2014, she started teaching public primary school children and in 2017 she became a teacher trainer. Currently, she is working at Seduc – “Secretaria de Educação de Maringá” where she is responsible for training and coordinating around 80 municipal teachers. Cidalli majored in English Language, Literature and Translation at UEM and has specialization courses in Foreign Language Teaching, Neuropsychopedagogy and Teaching English to Children. She also holds CPE, TKT (core modules) and CELTA. In 2018, she was awarded a scholarship to be part in Brazil English Teachers / PDPI program at the Michigan State University English Language Department in East Lansing, Michigan.

Haraceli Oliveira Lima started teaching English to kids during her “Magistério” course. In the need of developing the learning teaching process knowledge, she decided to study Languages (Portuguese/English) at UEM. She has worked with kindergarten, primary and secondary school so far. She has also had some experience with groups from an English school and as a personal teacher. After graduating, she started working at a mainstream private school where she is a teacher and coordinator. Four years ago, she also started working for the public school as a secondary and high school English teacher. She has a degree in Languages and a post-graduate course at UEM. She holds TKTs certificates. She is currently concluding her second post-graduate course on Teaching Children at UEL.

Lilian Karina Fernandes Belinelli works as a self-employed teacher. She has a degree in Languages – UEM and holds the CAE. Working in this field for 19 years has provided her with a lot of experience in some language schools, bilingual regular schools and teaching one-to-one, which has been her field for the last five years.

Gledson Batista has been working as an English language teacher for over a decade now. With a special interest in and carrying out research on the field of assessment, he has an MA in Modern Foreign Languages - Universidade Estadual de Londrina (UEL) and is currently taking his PhD in Language Studies at the same institution. A Cambridge C2 Proficiency and CELTA holder, he is the team leader and speaking examiner for international awarding bodies.

Andréia Ribeiro has been working as an ELT professional for 15 years. She runs an English school where she acts as a coordinator, teacher and manager. She has also been a state school teacher for many years. She teaches Primary, Secondary and High school students. She has a degree in Languages and holds the FCE, TKTs 1, 2 and 3. She has recently taken a methodology course at the UNCC university, in Charlotte, USA and is currently taking the preparatory course for CAE.
Advisory Board

Josimayre Novelli has a degree in Languages English-Portuguese - UEM (2002). She is a specialist in Teaching Foreign Languages - UEL (2007). She has an MA in Language Studies and Teachers Training – UEL (2008). She has a PhD in Language Studies and Teachers Training – UEL (2015). She is an English Professor at the Modern Languages Department, a member of the Professional Master’s Degree in Languages (Profletras) and the coordinator of the “Pibid” Project – Languages/English, UEM. Josimayre is also the Institutional coordinator of the Project “O Paraná Fala Idiomas” and the director of “Núcleo de Educação a Distância” - UEM. She has experience in teaching English to Secondary, High School and University students. Currently, she develops research in English language teaching and learning, especially in the field of critical reading, critical literacy, cognition and teachers training.
