About The Organizers


Founded in 1986, BRAZ-TESOL is the largest ELT association in Brazil, boasting over 10,000 registered members and around 1,700 in good standing. BRAZ-TESOL is an affiliate of TESOL International and IATEFL -- and a Southern Cone TESOL member, of course. Learn more about our association here.

The following professionals make up the Executive Board of BRAZ-TESOL elected for the 2019-2020 term:

1. Higor Cavalcante, president.
2. Marcela Cintra, first vice-president.
3. Natália Guerreiro, second vice-president.
4. Sergio Monteiro, treasurer.
5. Bia Hedegaard, secretary.


The organizing committee of the 2019 Southern Cone TESOL comprises the following volunteer professionals:

1. Higor Cavalcante, chair.
2. Carmen Koppe, liaison with PUC Curitiba.
3. Florinda Scremin.
4. Natália Guerreiro.
5. Sergio Monteiro.

Supporting the organizing committee are the following hired professionals:

9. Camille Marcatto, BRAZ-TESOL Architect.

The academic committee, responsible for organizing the call for proposals and the program, as well as inviting the plenarists, is composed of:

In addition, the academic committee will be inviting readers to help evaluate the proposals.
