SIG Mission: 

We are the Bilingual Education Special Interest Group of BRAZ-TESOL. Our main goal is to build a supportive community of educators interested in learning and sharing to contribute to the development of bilingual education in Brazil.

Leonardo Mesquita Viana

Leonardo was born in a bilingual environment and has commited himself to bringing some of his experience to the world. A passionate about English he started his carreer as a teacher as early as 16 and soon after starting his degree in Computer Science he realised that language teaching was his passion and switched to Letras and has been dedicating himself to Bilingual Teaching since 2018.

Sandra Regina Fonseca Moreira

15 years of teaching experience at private Universities in Sao Paulo, working especially with teacher´s formation and ELT. Has developed and revised didactical materials for distance education in the fields of American and British Literatures, ELT, ELT methodologies and translation. Currently working with teacher´s mentoring and private classes. Master degree in Linguistics, graduated in ELT and Translation. Graduation in Bilingual Education and Cognition (est. finish Jun/2024) and Undergraduation in Pedagogy (est finish jun/2027).

Viviane Nogueira

Viviane Nogueira é uma especialista em Educação Bilíngue e Educação Inclusiva, com mestrado em Educação. Ela é graduada em Letras - Inglês e Pedagogia, com experiência em ensino de inglês e elaboração de currículos para Educação Bilíngue. Certificada em metodologias de ensino de língua (TESOL e TEFL) e comprometida com a formação de professores e práticas inovadoras. Seu sucesso e impacto na Educação Bilíngue são notáveis.

Roberta Vilani Mesquita

I am a lifelong learner, passionate about education, learning and technology. I have worked with ESL for over 27 years, being that the last 10 exclusively to Bilingual Education. Currently I am a teacher developer for a publisher. I have an MA on Multilingualism, Language Policy and Bilingual Ed, 4 post-graduate courses (Language Teaching Through Technology, Modern Education and 2 in Bilingual Teaching), CPE, ECPE, Higher, TKT 1, 2, 3, YLe and CLIL. She is currently researching Brazilian women translators from the XIX Century at USP. She was also a voluntary teacher at Projeto Inglês da Família (British Council) and Escola da Ponte.
