SIG Mission: 

The rapid advancements in technology have fundamentally transformed the way education is delivered and received. This change presents us with new opportunities to optimize our educational offerings, improve efficiency, and enhance the overall experience for our members.

Our Mission: Bring to light EdTech tools to provide the BRAZ-TESOL community with engaging practices.

Our aims: 

Ø  Conduct thorough
assessments to identify areas where educational technology can have the greatest impact, whether it's in training programs, curriculum development, or other educational initiatives. 
Ø  Research, evaluate, and recommend appropriate technological solutions that align with our members´ goals and budget. This includes learning management systems, virtual classrooms, interactive content tools, and more.
Ø  Collaborate to formulate a comprehensive strategy for implementing and integrating educational technology in the classrooms as well as with the autonomous teachers. This will ensure that our approach is coherent, effective, and sustainable.
Ø Continuously assess the effectiveness of the implemented technologies and make necessary adjustments based on feedback of our members.

Victor Hugo Medina

Victor Hugo Medina is a teacher educator and English language teacher in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. He has an MA in Phonetics and Phonology and a BA in English Language and Literature. He has the CELTA and the Train the Trainer certifications. He currently works with the coordination of conversation courses and is involved with digital innovation and teacher development initiatives. He's interested in popularising academic research on phonological acquisition in late bilinguals, intelligibility, and pronunciation instruction.

Victor Hugo MedinaSIG Leader

Roberta Mesquita

Robs Mesquita is a lifelong learner who is passionate about education and technology. She has been working with English language teaching for over 27 years, being that the last 10 she has dedicated exclusively to Bilingual Education. Currently, she is a teacher developer for a B. E. publisher and finishing her MA on Multilingualism, Language Policy and Bilingual Ed at UFMG. She holds 4 post-graduate courses (Language Teaching Through Technology, Modern Education and 2 in Bilingual Education); CPE; ECPE; Higher and TKTs 1, 2, 3, YLe and CLIL.

Roberta MesquitaCoordinator

Leo Mesquita

Leonardo was born in a bilingual environment and has commited himself to bringing some of his experience to the world. A passionate about English he started his carreer as a teacher as early as 16 and soon after starting his degree in Computer Science he realised that language teaching was his passion and switched to Letras and has been dedicating himself to Bilingual Teaching since 2018.

Leo MesquitaCoordinator

Amanda Souza

Amanda has great love and enthusiasm for education. She has been working with ESL for over 25 years with a vast experience on young learners, online teaching, English for specific purposes, pedagogical coordination, as well as head teaching in both regular and language schools. She's worked on CLIL and PBL in elementary and secondary schools and has also been an Educational Technology assistant. She holds studies in Pedagogy- Educational Support, and in English Language/Literature, with certification in TKT YL, TKT 1, TOEFL ITP, FCE, PET, CAGT London, Primary Maths and Science Oxford Teachers? Academy and International Intercultural Program USA. She's into developing digital innovation, engaging pedagogical practices, multiculturalism, leadership, all targeting at the growth of accessible knowledge and equitable teaching.
