About the Speaker:
Betsy Parrish is a Professor in the TESOL Program at Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota. With over 35 years of experience as a language teacher, teacher educator, writer, and consultant, Betsy has worked in diverse contexts, including the US, Bangladesh, Costa Rica, France, India, Russia, and Vietnam. She is the author of Teaching Adult English Language Learners: A Practical Introduction (CUP, 2019), which addresses the varied needs of adult English learners and provides ideas for preparing learners for the demands of the 21st century. As a US Department of State English Language Specialist, she recently led a project in Vietnam to establish teacher-led Communities of Practice with English language educators.
