Abstract:  Artificial Intelligence (AI) has received a lot of attention in recent times and has quickly made its way into educational environments. However, many teachers, educators, students, and parents are confused about what AI means, what it can and cannot do, and how it will affect them. This webinar will demystify AI by exlaining core concepts, how models are built and how they can be used to solve different tasks that can support teaching and assessment. We will also look at the rationale behind the use of AI, talk about some of the latest developments, and provide recommendations for the successful integration of these tools into our work. This talk aims to serve as a starting point for those interested in understanding the foundations of AI so they can continue their foray into technology with a clearer and critical view of its capabilities.
