Introducing Dogme: Teaching Beyond the Plan

In this 3-hour online event, we invite you to explore Dogme ELT, a conversation-driven, learner-centered approach to language teaching that encourages teachers to move beyond rigid lesson plans and focus on what’s happening in the moment. Grounded in spontaneity, authenticity, and meaningful interaction, Dogme proposes that language is best learned not from materials, but from communication itself.

The event is divided into two parts:

Part 1: Understanding the Approach
We’ll unpack the core principles of Dogme: where it came from, how it challenges traditional ELT practices, and why it continues to resonate with teachers looking for more responsive, human ways to teach.

Midway Break: Virtual Coffee & Connection
A chance to relax, meet fellow educators, and share thoughts in a casual space before diving into the next part.

Part 2: Dogme in Action – A Hands-On Workshop
We’ll explore how Dogme looks and feels in practice through collaborative activities, simulations, and guided reflection. You’ll leave with inspiration and ideas for embracing a more flexible, conversation-first approach in your own classroom.

Closing: Launch of Our Dogme Study Group
To keep the momentum going, we’ll introduce a new monthly study group focused on Dogme, where members can continue learning, sharing experiences, and growing together.

Whether you're new to Dogme or simply curious about more natural, learner-responsive teaching, this is your invitation to take a step beyond the plan, and into something more alive, connected, and , and meaningful.
