Chapter Mission:

The BRAZ-TESOL North Chapter exists to connect, empower, and amplify the voices of English language educators across Northern Brazil. Rooted in the cultural richness, diversity, and resilience of the Amazon region, we foster a vibrant, inclusive community of practice where every teacher — from urban centers to riverside schools, from language institutes to public universities — feels valued, heard, and supported.

Our mission is to make high-quality professional development accessible to all, promote research-informed teaching practices, and cultivate a strong sense of professional belonging across the diverse educational landscapes of our region. We are committed to teacher agency, to the sharing of knowledge and best practices, and to advocating for the recognition of Northern ELT contexts in national and international educational debates.

We believe that educators in the Amazon are not peripheral to the national ELT conversation — they are central to it. Together, guided by contribution, cooperation, and community, we are shaping the future of English Language Teaching in the North.

The North is here.
